Grandma Ate The Wolf is an emerging rock band from Stockholm, Sweden
The origin story
Founding members Olof and Daniel wanted to start a band with no labels where the music spoke for itself. They started jamming on a couple of tunes, grabbing influences from everything they liked. Bands like The White Stripes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath and Guns and Roses all went into the blender.
They started to look for a bass player and after a couple of weeks, Ricky entered the ring. With his mighty slapping skills, Daniel and Olof were amazed. During a session when the band was jamming, Ricky slapped so hard the bass amp started moving and almost crushed Daniel. It was decided. Ricky was joining the band!
After a couple of failed attempts to find a singer for the band, Joakim suddenly appeared. With his excellent technique and great sense of melody he was the perfect fit. His past as an opera singer came to good use when the band was playing louder and louder for each rehearsal.
When the band was complete, the group entered the studio. They wanted to have material out as soon as possible. And since Daniel and Olof already had written four songs before everyone joined it was easy to get going.
Soon after the studio session the band had their debut gig @ Snövit in Stockholm. The crowd was pleased and so was the band. More gigs followed alongside the release of the other songs recorded earlier that spring.
